晶閘管就不能導(dǎo)通。控制極的作用是通過外加正向觸發(fā)脈沖使晶閘管導(dǎo)通,卻不能使它關(guān)斷。那么,用什么才能使導(dǎo)通的晶閘管關(guān)斷呢?使導(dǎo)通的晶閘管關(guān)斷,可以斷開陽極電源(圖3中的開關(guān)S)或使陽極電流小于維持導(dǎo)通的值(稱為維持電流)。如果晶閘管陽極和陰極之間外加的是交流電壓或脈動直流電壓,那么,在電壓過零時,晶閘管會自行關(guān)斷。應(yīng)用類型圖4示出了雙向可控硅的特性曲線。由圖可見,雙向可控硅的特性曲線是由三兩個象限內(nèi)的曲線組合成的。象限的曲線說明當加到主電極上的電壓使Tc對T1的極性為正時,我們稱為正向電壓,并用符號U21表示。當這個電壓逐漸到等于轉(zhuǎn)折電壓UBO時,圖3(b)左邊的可控硅就觸發(fā)導(dǎo)通,這時的通態(tài)電流為I21。
