工具鋼(Tool steel),是用以制造切削刀具、量具、模具和耐磨工具的鋼。工具鋼具有較高的硬度和在高溫下能保持高硬度得紅硬性,以及高的耐磨性和適當?shù)捻g性。工具鋼一般分為碳素工具鋼、合金工具鋼和高速工具鋼。具有較好的綜合力學性能(如硬度、耐磨性和韌性等),晶粒更細,在加熱時對晶粒長大和形成碳化物網(wǎng)的敏感性小。用于制造在工作時切削刃口不變熱的工具,如鋸、鏨刀、絲錐、銼刀、刮刀、發(fā)條、儀規(guī)、擴孔鉆、板牙、切煙葉用刀具、尺寸不大和斷面無急劇變化的冷沖模及木工刀具等。
