近幾年來，特別是建設(shè)部“十一五”以后，相繼發(fā)布了建材方面重大政策導(dǎo)向性文件，禁止使用粘土制品，不提倡大量使用水泥制品，大力推廣實(shí)用、高效、環(huán)保的新型建材。瀝青瓦正符合了市場的需求和提出節(jié)能減排的政策導(dǎo)向，無論在綜合成本、安全性能、施工簡易度、耗能節(jié)源、美觀度等方面都能優(yōu)于目前的粘土瓦、琉璃瓦、水泥瓦、陶土瓦等產(chǎn)品。
在美國、歐洲等西方，傳統(tǒng)的粘土、水泥制的瓦片已近淘汰。在美國，92％的斜面屋頂采用彩色瀝青瓦，在市場上占主流。國內(nèi)的北京、上海、浙江、大連、哈爾濱、天津、南京、蘇州等地已開始廣泛使用并迅速普及。瀝青瓦的優(yōu)勢已經(jīng)顯現(xiàn)無疑。

三、玻纖胎瀝青瓦的主要構(gòu)成：彩砂、瀝青、玻纖、填料、其他化學(xué)制劑。

玻纖氈包括：（復(fù)合胎、聚酯胎、玻纖胎）
1、復(fù)合胎，0.6元/平方，禁用，相當(dāng)于添加了無紡布，可以上下兩層撕開。
2、聚酯胎，國標(biāo)不推薦使用。
3、玻纖胎，國標(biāo)規(guī)定90克/平方以上，一般1.5元/平方。
注：在每片瀝青瓦同等厚度的情況下，若玻纖氈成分使用過多則瀝青使用就相對少（瀝青的價格要遠(yuǎn)超過玻纖氈的價格）。
